Juan G. Ruelas proposes to change the old ideas that we have about “service.” The problem is that the concept of service came to us through monarchies and these people saw service as something low and worthy of shame. In our modern world, service comes to take the place of a gear. This gear is a wheel that has teeth, and each tooth meshes with the other. In the same way people who use their internal abilities and skills to help others are pushers. These qualities, like the teeth in a gear, not only allow us to advance, but also entwine with others.

Juan G. Ruelas propone cambiar las viejas creencias sobre el servicio. El problema es que éste nos llega por medio de las monarquías y esas personas veían los servicios como algo inferior y digno de vergüenza. Es importante concientizar que hemos evolucionado en cuanto al servicio. De ser visto como lo peor de la sociedad, ahora es visto como algo imprescindible, que sin él no podemos funcionar. Sin embargo, la actitud que aún muchos tienen en cuanto a «servir» en esta sociedad moderna es de una actitud medieval: se sienten sometidos, obligados y hacen las cosas de mal gusto.
